Making Wishes Come True
Minus Forty believes being involved in our community and making a difference in people’s lives is part of being a good neighbor.
We have made a young girl’s Make-A-Wish come true again this Christmas on behalf of our clients. There are many other children who need the support of corporate families.
With this in mind, the Minus Forty team would encourage you to consider supporting Make-A-Wish and help a deserving child’s wish come true.

Erin’s Wish (2017)
This Christmas on behalf of our clients, we are delighted to makeErin’s wish come true to visit a magical theme park in Florida with her family!
Erin is a kind, social teenage girl who loves horror movies and ketchup chips!
Erin has cystic fibrosis and has been through a very difficult time with regular lung treatments, daily medications, missing out on activities at school and with her friends. Throughout this journey, Erin’s family has been her support, so what she wishes for most is to go on a vacation with her family!
This trip will give Erin and her family the opportunity to spend quality time together, creating happiness and healing at a time when it’s needed most.
A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, and more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions. For many of them, it marks a turning point in their fight against their illnesses. With the gift of a wish, you have the power to help renew a child’s strength and optimism, and to bring joy to a child and their family at a time when it’s needed most.
Olivia’s Wish to Meet a Minion (Christmas 2016)
On behalf of our clients, Minus Forty® is making a deserving young girl’s wish come truethis Christmas.
Olivia is a bubbly, kind, inquisitive seven year old girl who lovespainting, biking, and swimming!
Olivia also absolutely loves the Despicable Me, andThe Minion movies. When she’s not feeling well, shecan spend hours watching her favourite characters.
When asked what she wishes for most in the world,Olivia shared her wish is to meet a minion! She would like to “play with them, fight crime with them, and hug them”! She would also like to ask them if they really like bananas, and see what they feel like (are they fluffy or do they have skin?). She is excitedto share the experience with her parents and her twin sister, Kate.
This trip will be an opportunity for Olivia and herfamily to bond and spend quality time together away from doctors and hospital visits. It will help them to heal and become stronger, one day at a time.

Briana’s Wish (Christmas 2015)
On behalf of our clients this Christmas, Minus Forty® is making a deserving young girl’s wish come true.
Together through Make-A-Wish we are sponsoring Briana, a local seven year old girl whose wish is to go Legoland’s California Resort with her Mom, Dad and sister Juliana.
Briana’s favorite colors are pink, purple and turquoise. Her favorite sport is gymnastics, and her favorite food is banana bread!
Briana suffers from Wilms’ tumor, a rare kidney cancer that primarily affects children. Also known as nephroblastoma, Wilms’ tumor is the most common cancer of the kidneys in children.
Every Make-A-Wish® dream typically costs $10,000 so it is a very special gift that each child receives to help them forget, at least for a little while, about the challenges they’ve had to face in their young lives.
It is our hope, the courage, strength and joy shown by children like Briana with life threatening medical conditions will inspire all of us to do as much as we can to make life better for those around us.
Marco wanted to take a cruise with his family more than anything in the world. A few years earlier, Marco and his family took a cruise and the memories stuck with him.
So with money raised through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, March chose to go on a DreamWorks cruise where he could meet characters from his favourite movies. He was overjoyed to meet Shrek.
Marco got to sit in the pilot’s seat of an airplane, he got to drive the massive cruise ship, touched a dolphin, ate all the ice cream he could handle and even joined the captain of the ship for dinner at the captain’s table!
Rope for Hope
For the last two years, Minus Forty CEO Julian Attree took part in the Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope event, rappelling down the side of a skyscraper in the GTA to raise money for the charity.
And he’ll be back at it again in 2016. Keep an eye on the Rope for Hope website for your chance to donate.
