Assembly Team Member

Job Summary

We are currently seeking Assembly Team Members who will work as part of a team to assemble an entire product or component of a product that ultimately satisfies our customer’s needs in both quality and service. Assemblers can perform multiple tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through several of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.

This role is perfect for individuals with general labour, line/assembly, production, warehouse experience and/or personal or professional experience with hand tools/power tools. However, Minus Forty Technologies provides comprehensive training for individuals with or without assembly experience!

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week), Permanent

Hours: 40+ hours a week

Shift Timing:Tuesday to Friday from 6 am to 4:30 pm + some Mondays

Wage:$16.00 to $20.00 (based on experience)
(with opportunities for overtime, bonuses, and advancement)

Responsibilities and Duties (including but not limited to):

  • Work as part of a team to assemble components or products in an efficient manner
  • Work with hand tools to assemble parts (training provided)
  • Communicate in a consistently respectful manner with your team members
  • Continuously develop skills in all the tasks required in a particular production process
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, take out garbage/recycling, sweep, etc. as needed
  • Perform light lifts, some twisting, full-body movements, and more physical requirements in an ergonomic and safe manner
  • Manage personal time and productivity

Requirements:

  • No experience required!
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Must own or be willing to purchase CSA-approved safety shoes
  • You are able to perform the physical requirements including (but not limited to) standing, walking, repetitive motion, bending, twisting, grasping, stooping, and lifting
  • You are interested in working with an enthusiastic team in a manufacturing setting to provide excellence in quality and service!

Production Department Supervisor

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor who will be responsible for building and developing a team environment that is aligned with our company’s core values, and meeting the daily targets set forth by the production plan while leading by example. The position will report to our Manufacturing Manager. The purpose of this role is to foster an environment that builds loyalty, and creates growth amongst our employees. We’re looking for a Supervisor with experience in managing people and motivating them to bring out there best on a daily basis. This Supervisor needs to have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to supervise and train assembly team members. Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week), Permanent

Hours: 40 hours a week

Shift Timing: Tuesday to Friday from 5:30 am to 4:30 pm + some Mondays Wage: Minus Forty Technologies offers a competitive hourly rate based on experience. (with opportunities for overtime, and advancement)

Responsibilities and Duties (including but not limited to):

  • Follow and maintain all Health & Safety policies with in your department.
    • Coach staff to be aware of their surroundings.
  • Conduct training of staff as required, and perform quality spot checks to ensure training has been effective.
  • Reward, recognize and discipline employees as appropriate
    • Utilize online employee 360-recognition platform
  • Participate in the implementation and revision of new products and Lean objectives.
  • Follow up on downtime reports for equipment with your department for maintenance, and work with them
  • To ensure all maintenance is done in a timely manner.
  • Coach and motivate employees who are not meeting production requirements on a regular basis to ensure they are aware of their daily expectations.
  • Monitor employee attendance and assign employees to workstations based on production needs

Requirements:

  • Minimum eight years’ experience as a production supervisor/lead hand in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a definite asset
  • Demonstrated leadership ability when working with teams and cultivating them.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot effectively and thrive under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the following computer applications is an asset: Microsoft Excel, Access, and Outlook
